Lions Clubs are about “more volunteers, doing more community work, in more places than any other service club organization in the world.” When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We serve! We are not limited by continents or restricted to certain causes. Lions help wherever, whenever and however we can. Our volunteer projects unite Lions around the world, and our work is unconditional.
The Highland Village Lions Club is a local group of service-minded men and women who are volunteering to support our community every day. We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, at 9:15 am, at the Duvall Center on Highland Village Road. The Highland Village Lions are an active service organization that is involved in many projects including our own Hearing and Vision screening program. The Club, joined by dedicated volunteers, provide screenings to many local preschools and private schools. This school year we have performed over 5500 screenings. 100% of the funds raised by the Highland Village Lions Foundation are distributed throughout our communities. We charter Boy Scout Troop 262 and Troop 280 as well as Cub Scout Pack 298. Lion Ron Rohne is our charter representative. The funds raised during 2017 helped support the Lions Club International programs, Lewisville Education Fund. Journey to Dream, Special Abilities of North Texas, The Salvation Army of Lewisville, Texas Special Olympics, the Highland Village Fire Association and the Highland Village Park and Recreation Department. The Club participates in eyeglass recycling by collecting used eyeglasses and volunteering at the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center. We participate in community events such as the Highland Village Art Festival, Highland Village Fall Festival, the annual City’s employee Christmas party as well as the Lewisville and Flower Mound Christmas Parades.
