Lions Clubs are about “more volunteers, doing more community work, in more places than any other service club organization in the world.” When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We serve! We are not limited by continents or restricted to certain causes. Lions help wherever, whenever and however we can. Our volunteer projects unite Lions around the world, and our work is unconditional.
The Highland Village Lions Club is a local group of service-minded men and women who are volunteering to support our community every day. We meet the 1st Saturday of each month, at 9:00 am, at the Duvall Center on Highland Village Road.
The Highland Village Lions are an active service organization that is involved in many projects including our own Hearing and Vision screening program. Dedicated volunteers perform screenings to many local preschools and private schools. This past school year we completed over 5400 screenings.
The Lions Balloon Festival at Unity Park is our main fundraiser. 100% of the funds raised by the Highland Village Lions Foundation are distributed throughout our communities. This event started in 1987. The funds raised during 2018 helped support the Lions Club International programs, Lewisville Education Fund, Marcus High School, Highland Village Elementary School, Heritage Elementary, McAuliffe Elementary, Briarhill Middle School, Journey to Dream/Kyle’s Place, Salvation Army of Lewisville, Spirit of Flower Mound Special Olympics, Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County on behalf of the Highland Village Fire Department, The Cain Sczepanski Foundation for Special Education, Pedi Place and Boy Scout Troop 99.
We participate in community events such as the Highland Village Art Festival, Highland Village Fall Festival, the annual City’s employee Christmas party as well as the Lewisville and Flower Mound Christmas Parades.
