About the Highland Village Lions Club and Foundation

Lions Clubs are about “more volunteers—doing more community work—in more places than any other service club organization in the world.” When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We serve! We are not limited by continents or restricted to certain causes. Lions help wherever, whenever and however we can. Our volunteer projects unite Lions around the world, and our work is unconditional.

As a Lions Club Member, you’ll join a local group of service-minded men and women who are volunteering to support your community every day. You’ll also become a member of Lions Club International – a respected international organization – a leader in your local community and a friend to people in need.

We are the Highland Village Lions Club and Foundation.  We are made up of volunteers just like you in our community. We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at 9:15  AM, at the Duvall Center on Highland Village Road.

Our  club is unique in that we have an active vision and hearing program. We screen children and adults at local day care centers, pre-schools, charter schools and at community events in Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village and surrounding cities. We are celebrating our 7th year of the vision and hearing program and have successfully preformed over 5,000 screenings this school year. Our screening teams attend special training and use state-of-the-art vision and hearing equipment to detect early signs of vision and hearing  impairment.  100% of the funds raised through the success of the Highland Village Lions Balloon Festival are returned to the public.  We charter Boy Scout Troop 262 and Troop 280 as well as Cub Scout Pack 298.  Lion Ron Rohne is our charter representative.  In 2017, these funds enabled us to support the Lions Club International programs, Lewisville ISD Education Fund. Journey to Dream, Special Abilities of North Texas, The Salvation Army of Lewisville, Texas Special Olympics, the Highland Village Fire Association, the Highland Village Park and Recreation Department and the continued maintenance of our vision and hearing equipment.
