About The Park
Highland Village’s Unity Park and Kids Kastle
Unity Park is the current site for the Highland Village Lions Balloon Festival. It is a 38 acre park and is located on Briarhill Blvd near FM 407. This park was developed in cooperation with the City of Highland Village and the Lewisville Independent School District. The park has many recreational amenities including baseball and softball fields, batting cages, soccer fields, tennis court, exercise facilities, a playground, and a fishing pond with a pier. It, like all of the other parks and recreational areas in Highland Village, are great places to spend a day.
At the center of the park is Kid’s Kastle, which is an extensive wooden play center. This structure was built by volunteers and funded by donations and community support in May of 1994. It was later rebuilt by volunteers when it was nearly destroyed by fire in May of 2000. It is a popular stop for kids, as well as adults, during the Lion’s Club Balloon Festival.
Another feature of the park is its trail system that connects it to rest of the city. This is part of more than over 9.8 miles of the Highland Village Inland Trails that run throughout the city. So you can walk, run, hike, or ride to the festival without worrying about parking. But plenty of parking with be available if you do need to drive.
